Diocesan Convention Opens in Christ Church City
The seventy seventh annual Diocese of North Carolina convention convenes at Christ Church with 10 am organization, morning prayer sermon by Rev. Frederick Towers, Holy Communion by the bishop, and an afternoon address by Bishop. Miss Emery to address the Woman's Auxiliary at 5 pm, with St Andrews' Brotherhood meeting at 8 pm. Delegates arrive from Charlotte Oxford Lenoir Pittsboro Durham and many other towns as the city hosts the gathering.

Monument to Confederate soldiers unveiled in Chicago
In 1893 a grand monument to 6,000 Confederate soldiers buried at Oakwood Cemetery Chicago will be unveiled.
