Primary dates set for September with a county convention September 10 to nominate county officers.
Charles Blackman was privately executed today in Greensbo ne jail enclosure for the murder of his wife last spring. The crime sparked indignation among Black residents who favored a public execution, but a petition for privacy succeeded as he remained calm to the end. The case followed a May conviction after prompt arrest.
