A fatal Wabash railroad crash near All a small station east of Hannibal left six men dead and many injured. Engineer A Bouchard and fireman M Warberry died, with Charles Wilson and others injured as two trains collided and caught fire.

Twin City Pleasure Club reopens with new rooms and funds
The Twin City Pleasure Club in Winston Salem reports a $113 membership, $1,800 in credit, and repaid deficit of $1,002.60. New officers include President B J Sheppard and Secretary Treasurer Charles Wood. A horse owned by Dr George I White was killed by a train on the North Carolina Midland road. Plans for a local train between Roanoke and Martinsville are set for February 1, and telegraph service to Roanoke is to be completed soon. The Week of Prayer is observed with services at M P Church and the Centenary M E Sunday School reports 597 pupils.

County board declines to renew liquor licenses in Henderson
Henderson NC June 5 1891 county commissioners refuse to renew licenses for any saloon and order liquor establishments closed. At writing only three of the five commissioners are present with two sick. Town licenses remain valid through July 1 1892.
