Auction set for August 15 1892 at noon on the south side of Blount Street near the colored Baptist Church in Raleigh Wake County. Mortgagee sale of a parcel described as the lot between Blount Street and the church with adjoining properties to N B Boughton and Mrs Stan tethers, fronting 75 Kiddworth Street. Held under a deed from Reuben Rhodes and recorded in Book 113 page 37s in Wake county. Attorneys Peele & Maynard for the mortgagee. Sale postponed to August 3 1892.

Pinkerton Investigation debate spawns Senate select committee

In Washington on August 2 the Senate debated a resolution to form a seven member committee to investigate the employment and use of armed private men and detectives in labor disputes.
