The fifteenth annual report of the Relief and Aid Society notes 1862 funds on hand and receipts totaling 3 04 disbursements 4 sh 255 balance in treasury 048. It records food fuel and clothing support to over 10 000 families on Jan 1 1872 and later reductions and recoveries, plus 2 983 houses built and furnished for fires victims. Vaccination totals reach 16 202 with 780 smallpox cases after vaccination and 6 664 after revaccination. 690 further smallpox cases after those events.
Albany March 1 The Governor holds under advisement the reprieve application for Foster. His counsel present the case with notable lawyers’ opinions arguing against murder in the first degree and urging mercy, citing Foster's habitual sobriety and peaceful character.

A boiler explosion at Star Flour Mills in Louisburg injures Waney badly and demolishes the boiler room. The injured man, a resident of Sie Chesty alley in Cincinnati, is reported near death from his burns and injuries.
The closing exercises last night honored Right High School at Hughes High School with praise for pupils and tutors. Burnett received a gold headed cane and Miss Turner a book from the pupils.
