After fourteen years of service James A Maxwell was dismissed as Pilcher Park caretaker in an economy move. Park officials cited budget cuts while Maxwell defended his duty and hours. Don Mateer said funds were tight and Pilcher Park fell under Mr Snedden’s supervision. A petition to reinstate Maxwell circulated among citizens.
