Teachers to meet for northeastern district conference

About 1 800 to 2 000 grade and high school teachers from Will Kane Kendall and McHenry counties will gather Friday in Joliet for the Illinois State Teachers association northeastern district conference. The all day event starts at 9 A M in Joliet township high school with lectures by Will Durant J H Breasted F E Baker and W Meyer among others. A closing business session is set for 3 15 P M with musical entertainment by Joliet bands and choirs.

Plans Secret for Building New Rod Mills at Illinois Steel Yard

Chicago and Gary steel officials toured the closed Illinois Steel plant yesterday to advance plans for new rod mills. No statements were issued while details are prepared. Reports say KEJ&E railroad ordered about 50 000 dollars of new track for the mill yard and dismantling of two furnaces and related equipment may occur.
