Sixty two candidates enter a crowded city race with nine for mayor and 51 for commissioner plus two for police magistrate. Primary on February 26 will select two for mayor eight for commissioner and two for police magistrates. The field includes John V. McCarthy for mayor and incumbents Hennessy Wraith Shepley Lennon.
Mayor William Hennnessy reportedly found a rabbit's foot while walking a loop street yesterday. Residents say such omens are considered lucky for the mayor's prospects.
