Joliet Public Grade School Orchestras present their 18th annual pre Christmas concert Sunday at 3 p.m. in Pershing School auditorium. Proceeds support instrument purchases, camp, festival trips, and other activities.
The fight over rezoning 16.8 acres of Plainfield Township farmland to I-1 for a proposed corrugated box plant pits William Paisley and Circuit Judge Michael Orenic against a homeowner group. The Will County Board of Supervisors had denied the petition 30 to 4. Orenic overruled and granted zoning on 8 acres and on the full 16.8 acres. Opponents allege no notice of court hearing to residents or county officials. Continued to Page 15.
