Proposes Joliet Airport Authority to Boost Future Funding
Dr. Wylie H. Mullen urged Joliet to create an Airport Authority to access federal and state funds. He noted the Joliet Park District lacks funds to upgrade the airport west of the city and cited 19 Illinois airport authorities as precedent. A special election would form a six member panel, with three appointees from the county judge and three from the city council.
