The broom-corn raisers of this vicinity thresh their crop this week with a gas engine driven cylinder at the railroad warehouse. A large shipment of broom handles arrived for J L Hayes broom factory. An all night rain and snow followed by showers soaks fields helping wheat growers.
Editor J Gordon Smythe of Wagon Mound Pantagraph condemns Mora County for naming Spanish American as the official paper. The critique targets county commissioners for procedural choices and perceived neglect of local geography. The piece defends awarding to the county’s best equipped and established printer and notes Mora County’s eastern location.

The Warmers' Development Co managers of the Miami Irrigated tract near Springer receive a flattering notice in last week's Springer Stockman commending them as one of the most reliable irrigation companies in the Territory. From personal acquaintance with the Miami people we heartily endorse the Stockman's assertion.
G R Abernathy visits town to seek sympathy as wife is away Hart on a visit and he must cook for himself. An old cow kicks him, a punishment he says he deserves for his hardships.
The Colfax county Grand Jury in session reported fifty three indictments against county residents while stating they found no serious violations of law. The report suggests a contrast between formal indictments and perceived wrongdoing.
J L Swain was appointed post master for Roy and forwarded his bond to Washington for approval. He will assume charge once the commission arrives and move the office to the new building recently erected for that purpose.
