Christmas Wedding At Roy Home of Bruce and Applegate

A Christmas day wedding near Roy joined Mabel Bruce and Harris Applegate in matrimony at the Bruce home. Rev W C Heaton officiated under a canopy with a ring ceremony as family and a few guests attended. The bride wore a navy Pussy Willow Silk and the groom a black suit. After vows guests enjoyed a Christmas dinner, music, and social time before departing. The bride, a skilled compositor in the SA office, is praised for many talents. the groom brings family ties and plans to develop a ranch-farm on Hoggatt tract land next summer. The couple will reside in Roy as they continue their current jobs.

Holmes Cleland Wedding in Tucumcari

Mr N S Cleland of Oklahoma and Miss Gordon Holmes of Roy wed in Tucumcari last Wednesday. The union surprises friends who extend warm congratulations to the groom and bride. The groom plans to settle here and persuade his father to buy land. The bride is the Rev Holmes’s daughter and has spent most of her life in Roy.

Christmas Ball Draws Big Crowd For Charity Dance

The Citizens of Roy and their Ladies hosted a Christmas Dance to benefit the Red Cross Chapter. The hall was packed with attendees from Mill Mosquero and nearby areas, netting about $100 for the Red Cross. An employee saving program with Saving Certificates was unveiled by C L Wenseil of the Roy Trading Co. Postmaster Johnson will explain the plan at the P.O. Prof and Myre Russell will vacation to El Paso with company recognition. Red Cross meets Friday for important business. Mayor Roy and trustees relocate city hall, and locals assist with voter questionnaires. Several Roy residents travel for Christmas visits, with others hosting gatherings at the Justice home.

The groom, son of Will Mitchell, and the bride, eldest daughter of the Boulware family, begin their life together at the groom's home nearby.

Also noted is a Roy Masons’ trip to Springer for lodge, a banquet, and a cordial reception, plus local residents’ plans to read the SA in the future.

Fred Tinker and three Mosquero youths drove to Clayton Wednesday to complete questionnaires and conduct business afoot.
