Fred Strong and family relocate to Ute Park New Mexico returning to his old job as railroad agent due to Mrs Strong’s health. They rent their south of town farm to James M Gordon son in law of L A Canon of Liberty who assumed the position Monday. Neighbors express regret but hope they visit again.
Rev Bugg spoke at the Christian Church in Roy to a large audience after arriving eight weeks ago in poor health. He now weighs about 150 pounds, shows strong health, and delivered a strong pulpit performance for a Free Methodist audience. He plans to move soon to Texico New Mexico with his wife and family, and his cure is noted with optimism.

Equipment for the Roy Post Office arrived Saturday and was installed Sunday making it the most modernly equipped post office in a town of several times the size. Casey White barred sale dates for December five six seven due to subpoenas in Las Vegas. W S Morris called Tuesday claiming to help keep the paper in humor amid his busy schedule. Dick Boulware has a new Ford enabling faster town trips. The Christian Church Ladies Aid held a bazaar and chicken pie dinner last Saturday netting 94 dollars, the largest sum yet for the event. A fine display of home made fudge and a meal satisfied customers, with promises of a new dress for the church as improvements are painted and applied.
The Roy School Board faces the probability that members will need to borrow from the bank to meet teachers payroll again this month as they did previously. The Christian Aid Society thanks patrons for support at the bazaar and dinner.
A Pie Supper will be held at Pleasant View Schoolhouse on the evening of December 6 to raise funds for the Christmas tree. All are invited to attend, bring pies or the price, enjoy a good time, and support the cause.
A group of 15 Mason members met at L C F Hall last Friday to form a lodge charter list of 21 with members from 12 states. They plan to lease the old Odd Fellows Hall, share rent, and build a large auditorium for public gatherings and lodge use, with future meetings set for December 11. A nephew of Mrs. Fred Brown in France includes a vivid war letter describing camp life, the unit’s morale, international troops, and hopes for an end to the war, mentioning two sons of Robert Kirby serving as Sergeants.
A Masonic Past Master’s Jewel has been lost on the road about 16 miles north of my home and Roy last Friday evening. Finder should return it to me.
Mrs John Shamblin left last Thursday for Oklahoma to visit relatives until after Thanksgiving. John is batching it at home during her absence. Remigio Lopez went to Albuquerque to attend the trial of Mr Gonzales of Union county on a charge of perjury. He returned Tuesday. The case resulted in a hung jury. Rev C W Hearn accompanied the Gilstrap to Clayton last Saturday returning Monday. He supervised a Sunday School there and had a delightful trip.
W. K. Miller living in a tent at Kitchens has attached tractor gear to his Ford vehicle and intends to move to his farm on the Hoggatt tract to begin plowing, weather permitting.
Elby Bowman and family departed Tuesday for Hutchinson Kansas to spend the winter and possibly stay permanently. The community expresses sincere regret at Roy’s loss and wishes them success wherever they settle.
Owen L Brand writes requesting his Self Addressed mail to be sent to him at Kennebunk Maine where he now resides. He clearly does not intend to forget this message and his former wife.
