L R Babcock promoters arrange sale of the famed Rosedale mine to a strong Indiana company for a price around 140000 to 150000 dollars. The buyer plans immediate operation and expansion with the new company to take possession early next month after extensive development.
Mayor A C Abeytia of Socorro lists twenty delegates to the First Territorial Good Roads Convention in Las Vegas New Mexico set for September 26 and 27 1405 under Governor Oteros proclamation of July 15 1405. Delegates include McMillan Coomey Coon Griffith Piteh Baca Leandro Baca Greenwald Matthews Smith Abeyta Francisco Abeyta Chavez Torres Drake Dougherty Haca Chase and others. It expresses hope they attend.
Mogollon Gold and Copper reports a major ore strike at Cooney mine with $4,500 per ton in gold and silver and 20 percent copper. The vein yields 40 ounces of gold and 14,000 ounces of silver per ton, with a pay streak about four inches wide, attracting prospectors from Arizona and beyond.

James Jeffries world heavyweight champion is set to star in the Albuquerque Fair sporting lineup. He will umpire the fair baseball games, arriving Sunday, and is expected to draw keen interest from attendees alongside other fair attractions and late representations by Secorreo.
Socorro’s public schools opened well under strong management with good attendance and prospects for a strong year. The Carmel convent under Sisters of Loretto has done excellent work for local girls with future potential to compare favorably with past efforts. The New Mexico School of Mines offers strong technical education, with graduates in responsible, lucrative positions and growing demand for graduates.

At a regular convocation of So corro Lodge No. % A. P. and A. M. Rue N. Hines was passed to the Fellow craft degree. The degree was conferred by Deputy Grand Master Frank Johnson of Hiram Lodge San Marcial during an official visit.
Nepomuceno Chaves of Polva Dera became a screw worm victim after a fly entered his nose and toe. Dr Blackington treated him with nasal injections that expelled about sixty five worms over two days. He returned home Monday morning apparently cured and wiser about nasal protection from flies.
Telephonic connection between Socorro and Magdalena established after delays. Captain T J Matthews praised for securing the line and plans to integrate with a longer system from Denver to El Paso. The new setup is seen as a real convenience and may attract further ventures benefiting the public and promoters.
The Socorro City Improvement Association held its first ball of the season at the Garcia opera house with good attendance.
