Emblem dispute over Republican tickets in territory
In El Paso the Republican county convention held October 2 to 3 did not adopt any emblem for the ticket while the Independent Republican convention adopted a square flag emblem. Both tickets filed with the probate clerk October 29. The statute allows a convention to designate a mark to appear on tickets, and restricts use of other marks once filed. Judge McMillan testified on New Mexico conditions before Senator Beveridge’s committee, with no harm to New Mexico’s reputation.

Found Dead in Albuquerque Rooming House
Mrs. William Watkins was found dead in her room at the Majestic Rooming House in Albuquerque yesterday noon. A paralytic, she had lived at the house about two weeks. Death was caused by morphine. authorities suspect mental distress led to the act. Her note says she could not bear being stared at and preferred death over separation from her husband, an engineer at San Marcial. She was about thirty four years old.
