Sheep Mountain mining boom predicted by local leader
Charles Van Dorn, captain of police, reports strong activity at Sheep Mountain in Custer county with six Bobby Burns claims owned with J. H. Hawley and W. H. Puckett. He cites assays showing high gold and silver, expect rails to reach the district, and notes other properties like Loat Packer and Greyhound progressing with new roads, a concentrator, and winter operations.
