Oat Thieves Stop In for Bundle Theft Near Jensen Field
Last Monday night cam pers from Challis traveling toward Mackay crossed the river near the bridge and entered Jensen's field at dark, taking a dozen bundles of oats. They were challenged by Sam Oldfield at the feed corral and offered fifty cents to cover the loss. Sam refused, ordered them to drop the oats, and the outfit, a half team of horse, three to four men, one covered wagon and family, rode away.
