Travelers report improved lodging options as Lis House enforces stricter county accommodations. Aimed at maintaining reasonable rates, the hotel caters to visiting men with consistently comfortable tables and reliable amenities.
In Hailey at 1 o'clock a bonfire consumed gambling paraphernalia in front of the courthouse as ministers led a crowd in song. Sheriff Davis and County Attorney L. L. Sullivan raided gambling houses in Hailey and Bellevue, destroying layouts in the street. Similar actions occurred in Soldier, with Blaine county largely rid of gambling devices. The movement against open gambling grows across Challis and surrounding towns, with officials and citizens united in calling for suppression.
Hotel Leaton Report notes Hon. H. F. Powell struck a 3 foot ledge of high grade ore in the Nellie claim on Garden creek with no further details. A. Blume produced an exceptionally fine seed onion sample from his Salmon river garden. A Texas editor losing subscribers over the Ten Commandments explains the dig aimed at readers.
Alfred J. Doyle writes a new song and chorus with a pretty waltz. The chorus promises seaside pleasures and trolley rides before dark. Price 50 cents per copy with 25 cents postage to Theatrical Music Supply Co. New York for post paid copies.
The Weiser Signal denounces an “authorized statement” issued in The World and others as a sham from sheepish backers led by Gooding. It alleges Gooding funded a legal challenge against Idaho’s two mile limit, aided by the Woolgrowers Association, and recalls prior attempts to thwart Morrison’s renomination. The paper predicts farmers will reject the statement at the polls.
A lyric titled Your Mother by J. T. Rider is promoted as a popular home song. It notes chording and the message of affection in sunshine or rain. The price is 50 cents per copy, with readers urged to mail 25 cents in stamps to Theatrical Music Supply Co., 4 West 25th Street, New York, for a postpaid copy.
