Boise visitor H. Olds of Stanley Basin Dredge Co reports four miles of ground on Stanley creek, with a 3000 yard capacity dredge started Sept 24. Ground prospects are strong, with a big run planned next year. Ballentine ground below is described as very rich.

Visiting 25 years at present guest of Mr. Rush Bailor cousin Mrs. Elizabeth Ernest resides. Reese made welcome call at Times office with Mrs Basiler renew acquaintance with old-time friends intended to stay a month or two.

Mr Buckley superintendent for the Boston Company arrived in Challis from the copper camp last Thursday evening and left the next morning. He came to discuss with Mr J Fox the Brown Boar group in which Mr Fox and others are owners, and on which the Boston Company holds a bond. Buckley notes the Blackbird mines as a focus of their inquiry.
The Ladies' Home Journal believes it has found a successor to Lewis Carroll in Albert W. Smith of Stanford University California. His juvenile verse series Funnyland will debut in the November issue of the magazine.
Guila Spalding daughter of J P Spalding died in Challis last Tuesday at 1 o clock aged 12 years. She had been ill for two to three weeks, typhoid pneumonia proving fatal. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon. Guila will be sadly missed by relatives and playmates, and one vacant chair will remain in her home. The community extends sympathy to the family.
The president proclaims a national day of thanksgiving and prayer on November 30. He cites wartime peace, Cuba relief, industrial progress, and generous aid after the Porto Rico hurricane, urging nationwide observance and gratitude.
