Parker Mountain mining boom urged by Idaho data

Information released after A. Goss left Challis indicates Parker Mountain ore from the Ed Williams claim is shipping rock values of at least 107 ounces gold and 400 ounces silver per ton, with rock valued around 2200 dollars per ton. Initial shipments of about 15 tons are promised, and Salt Lake investors including Clarence E. Allen A. P. Mayberry William Goodsell and others back the district, which extends twenty five miles northward with promising outcrops."

Bonding of Parker Mountain claims cited in Challis deal

A large mining deal closed in Challis bonds the Ed Williams group of four claims on Parker Mountain to Riebell of Salt Lake for about 3.2 million with down payments. The Ed Williams claim group, adjoining Parker, has ore assaying 2200 dollars per ton in gold and silver. Local owners Kerr Williams Dunn and Shanafelt will oversee development. five men will be kept employed with plans for a larger force next spring if warranted. Also reported are marriage of Sam Oldfield and Bertha Clarington in Blackfoot and the death of Wm Boxwell Sr. Grand Lodge officers elected at Lewiston include John L. Chapman and James M. Stevens among others with Rebekah officers led by Mrs Agnes Swinnerton.
