The first Custer County Fair occurred in Challis Idaho on September 26 to 28 1911 with ideal weather and large orderly attendance. Exhibits ranged from apples and potatoes to prepared fruit and domestic science with premiums awarded in multiple classes. A foot race and wrestling event entertained crowds, while a livestock parade showcased premium horses and pigs. The event concluded as a grand success with best exhibits heading to the Boise State Fair.

County jail contract awarded to J P Maxfield for 1786.50. Missionary L D Heminger delivers lecture and marries Edna Michael in Indiana before Africa trip. Irrigation canal work proceeds to reclaim 5000 acres, financed by Chase A Clark. Numerous locals travel, attend fairs, and plan visits to Portland and coastal cities.
