Death in Lucky Boy mine claims NAD DEATH GEORGE OLSON

A cave-in at the Lucky Boy mine near Nad Deatb yesterday at 4:45 PM entombed George Olson, 23, station tender, beneath twenty feet of earth after a rock burst severed the cable and sent the bucket plummeting. Rescue crews reported rapid water rise and fears for boilers and hoist as ground instability continues at the shaft. Olson leaves a brother, sister, and in-laws in Custer.

Zeigler Convicted of First Degree Murder in Cal

In Santa Cruz on November 3, Amos K. Zeigler was found guilty of first degree murder for killing his wife on August 6 after a quarrel. The jury deliberated nearly three hours and life imprisonment was imposed with sentencing set for November 16. Zeigler claimed insanity and attempted suicide following the act.
