Community Mourns Cap Varney In Idaho May 9 1906

Black Hawk Mining to Install Mill Near Seafoam

Colonel Spofford of Black Hawk Mining Co announces a mill of 50 to 100 tons capacity will be built this summer on company property near Seafoam in this county. They feature the Reider process at the Lewiston smelter, with about 2 million dollars in ore in sight. The silver lead ore includes gold and copper, assays return 115.80 per ton, vein 4 to 6 feet wide opened by tunnels and upraises. Officers: Judson Spofford president, G. V. Hanson vice president, C. P. Huston treasurer, Milton A. Brown secretary. The Greyhound mine nearby shows a strong output, aided by a large smelter but hampered by transportation. A Boise-Butte-San Francisco railroad is being reconsidered, with renewed interest and prospects of construction easing regional access.
