A long description notes Red Fish Lake in the Sawtooth mountains once held numerous large Red Fish or Trochocopus pulcher, now extinct in the waters. The caption warns of past nets and dynamite catches, mentions remaining smaller fish and two Bull Trout, and references local fishing and enforcement by a state game warden.

A Montana Grayling is described as a new species in Salmon River this year. The fish, allied to trout and resembling Bull Trout, has a trout mouth and broad dorsal fin. It is round with large scales white sides a pink stripe and small black spots. Grayling are game fish. weigh about pounds. considered good to eat.
