Judge Hiles rules in favor of C. E. Thum receiver for C. Bunting & Co. in Idaho case against Daniel Wolstenholme over life insurance proceeds. Bunting used bank funds to pay premiums on a policy assignable to Wolstenholme, who later collected the money after Bunting’s death. The court finds $5110 diverted by Bunting for premiums, giving the receiver entitlement to $50000. Wardner Riot Leaves One Dead In Idaho Labor Clash

In Wardner Idaho April 29 a major riot erupts as 900 to 1000 armed men from Wardner and Canyon Creek attack a mill and depot. A picket is fatally shot and a boxed mill is burned after giant powder explosives level the Bunker Hill Sullivan mill.

Tax Collectors Must Refund School Fund Commissions

Idaho supreme court rules assessors and tax collectors are not entitled to commissions on general school fund taxes. Since 1888 many have received such commissions. counties plan to recover illegally paid amounts. Oneida County estimates around $12,000 plus interest may be recovered. other counties likely larger.
