Custer County Court House Undergoing Repairs

Custer County plans repairs on its Court House including a new roof for the Auditor's office, repapering, linoleum flooring, patchwork on the shell, and a new weatherboard to replace a missing side. Despite claims of strong finances, the county lacks public buildings and remains a renter for four offices with prisoners kept at the Blackfoot jail.

John W. Faulkner Dead in Challis Idaho

John W. Faulkner of Bonanza died at the Leaton hotel on Thursday afternoon April 27 1911 at 4 oclock from dropsy after poor health. He was about 63 born in Indiana and served in the Civil War. A part owner in the Montana mine on Estes Mountain he resided in Challis for periods with his wife who could not attend. Funeral held Saturday April 29 conducted by Rev Burnett at the church.

Odd Fellowship Observed in Challis on 92nd Anniversary

The 92nd anniversary of Odd Fellowship was observed in Challis on April 26 with three branches hosting at the Hall. The program began with the Subordinate lodge and continued under the Rebekah lodge featuring a tableau The Soldier's Farewell and a five act comedy sketch about gossip, titled Slow The Story Grew, illustrating the harm of idle rumor.

Community program notes and local notices in Challis

A Challis community program featured piano pieces by Mrs. E J Michael and two choir songs, followed by a tableau Rebekah at the Well by Miss Ruby Jones and George Thompson. After the exercises a dance was held. Local residents received hospital updates and notable operations, with several notices of sales and land filings in Challis Idaho.
