County Commissioners Approve Jail Bid and Set Salaries

April 10 1899 minutes show Board meeting with Commissioners Mollart Leigh Tolman Clerk Keyes approving M B Fogarty road overseer bond and Dunn liquor license. They denied road petition from Burton to Battle Ground and rejected tax cancellation for mining claims. Jail bids reviewed Baxter $226.35 and others. Baxter bid accepted and work to be inspected by J H Green. Salaries fixed: Assessor 2000. Clerk District Court 1500. Sheriff 1000. Treasurer 600. Probate 600. County Superintendent 400. Surveyor 50. Coroner 65. Commissioners 400. Notices to settle monthly and to reimburse road tools detailed.
