Easter in the district, court convenes, and several residents travel. Fred Funkhouse returns from Challis, while Mr. and Mrs. Oster visit. E Eddy relocates to Nevada for work. Millinery purchases, mining property control, banking news, and a major foreclosure sale in Idaho frame a busy local scene with multiple named individuals and places.
Elizabeth Christian 34 of Challis Idaho died March 17 1907 from uraemic blood poisoning while visiting sister Mrs John Q Adams. Married to John F Christian in 1892 she left five children Dora Alice Franklin Edwin and Claude plus parents Mr and Mrs Philip Hallaran and many relatives. Funeral conducted by Rev A J Hour at the 1 60 Mall with large attendance and floral tributes.
The body of Samuel Anderson, who drowned February 2 1907 in the Salmon River, was found March 19 near Bat Doody ranch by John Lambert’s young son. Coroner and deputy sheriff arrived. no inquest. Found: $28 in pockets, a silver watch, papers. Lambert delivered body to Challis. funeral at Odd Fellows Hall conducted by Rev. A J Hoar. Lambert to receive $150 reward.
The family extends public heartfelt thanks to all who aided during the illness and death of my wife, acknowledging kindness and assistance received during a difficult time.
A special examination for second and eighth grade teachers certificates will be held in Challis on April 2 and 3, 1907. Marrua Keenan, County Superintendent.
Breer H Baoss is notified that $300 labor and improvements were expended on the Olive lode mining claim in Sheep Mountain Mining District Custer county Idaho to hold the claim for 1904 1905 and 1906. Publication costs total $15. If co owner fails to contribute within the time limit the writer will obtain the interest under Section 2324. Signed WB Daly. First publication March 6.
