Record Drive To Challis Reaches Bedside Of Dying Wife
P W Truitt, secretary of Salmon River Lead and Irrigation, drove 53 miles from Mackay to Jensen's Bridge on the Salmon River in four hours and 80 minutes to reach the bedside of his dying wife Mary Connelly Truitt. He started after notifying Mackay officials and relay teams were prepared as the train arrived late. The route over 8000 foot passes included Antelope and Lone Pine summits, with multiple teams aiding and a final 14 mile leg to Jensen's Bridge in 72 minutes. Mr Truitt's wife is ill with blood poisoning and remains barely able to recognize him. a cautious outlook for her recovery.

The Class of 1910 of the Challis Public School hosts a basket social and dance at Odd Fellows Hall on Friday night March 11. All welcome with ladies asked to bring baskets. Upstairs open for non-dancers and lunches served in the banquet hall. Proceeds fund an address by a state educational official to the graduating class in May.

Snowslides Close Wagon Road In Custer County
Rob Morrison reports at least seventeen snowslides along the Clayton to Custer wagon road with the largest near Robinson Bar at Treon cabin. A 300 foot slide 40 feet deep blocks the road and mail service is disrupted as snow and trees fill the path. Weather and floods caused mails to arrive irregularly with long gaps from Custer Salmon Mackay and other points.

Letter to editor locates missing Harry Friend in Rough Gulch
In a February 21 1910 Messenger item a correspondent reports visiting Harry Friend's cabin in Rough Gulch after a January 22 disappearance. Snow slides blocked the old trail and no trace of Friend has been found. Lyscu hopes to contact Nebraska relatives to aid the search.
