Shooting Affair Kills Wild Bill Verges in Ulysses
A shooting incident reported from Ulysses on February 24 left William Verges known as Wild Bill dead at once. Charles Layton and Verges fighting led Verges to strike Layton with a gun, and a youth, Layton's son, then shot Verges, causing instant death. Coroner Hanmer and Sheriff Waters proceeded to the scene.

Will of John D Wood Probate In Salt Lake District
The will filed for probate in Salt Lake last week leaves the estate, valued at two to three million dollars, to widow Catherine Wood. Upon her death the remaining undivided portions go to sons Frank J Hagenbarth and Hugh C Wood, each four tenths, and to daughter Cassandra C Wood, two tenths, with her share to vest at age twenty one if the widow dies unmarried. If the widow dies with no issue, her interest reverts to the sons. Executors named are Frank J Hagenbarth and Hugh C Wood.
