A concise advertisement for Mrs. M. Jose offering first class meals and lodging northwest of R. N. Hull and Co’s store in Challis Idaho. Rooms are fine and beds are good with a table supplying the best in the market. Available by day week or month at reasonable rates.
The Willow Creek House at Dickey Idaho will be run on first class methods with board and lodging at reasonable rates and a single price for all travelers. It serves routes between Challis and Mackay as a convenient stopping place. Edward W. Bascom props Dickey P. O. Idaho.
The Nevada Hotel in Custer Idaho is leased to Charles K Barrett and will operate under first class methods. Board and lodging offered at reasonable rates with top markets supplies. Stage line offers first class service carrying passengers mail and express. Stages depart Challis for Salguonatfiam on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday arriving in Challis at 6 p m on Monday Wednesday and Friday KE A Reapicker manager Nickerson agent Challis.
After a regular meeting of Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge No. 27 in Challis, a farewell banquet and dance were held at the Odd Fellows hall for Mr and Mrs A C Bomar who move to Idaho Falls. The program featured Miss Rosa Blume and others in music recitations tableaux and songs. A brief address expressing thanks followed, the room was well decorated, a sumptous banquet was served to about a hundred attendees, and a social ball completed the enjoyable evening.
London July 21 John W Mackay California millionaire dies at Carlton House after heat tolls. Pioneer from 1851 he mined with Flood O’Brien and Fair forming the bonanza kings earning major riches. Healso backed White Knob mines and had the town of Mackay named for him.
The White Knob Copper company at Mackay will restart operations after overcoming closing conditions. An exodus of top officials from Zion ended, and resumption is imminent within hours. Officials aboard the northbound route included 5S. FP. Boyd, N. A. Clark, J. D. A. Smith, Thomas Brown, and George R. Hancock.
Manager Boyd states the mine will reopen gradually to cut costs via a tunnel tapping ore bodies, with a new smelter soon ready to handle 600 tons daily. The railroad operates ten miles on a six percent grade, and ore reserves are ample. Expected to revive Mackay interests, though some miners left for other camps during the tie-up.

Summer heat grips Challis as records show 89 to 92 degrees, and locals report mining activity, telegraph line works, hotel openings, and town news from Mackay to Stanley Basin.
