Death of Charles Frost Takes Early Custer County Settler

Card of Thanks from Mrs. Frost extends gratitude to those who aided during her husband Charles Frost’s illness and death. Frost, 56, a veteran of the Mexican War, died Tuesday July 14, 1896 after a brief illness, leaving a wife, four sons and two daughters. Funeral services Thursday afternoon drew a large crowd.

A note in Locel Gleanings discusses a planned telephone line from Ketchum to connect with Chal lis Bayhorse Clayton Bonanza and Custer. Interest is rising with half the stock spoken for and the rest to follow as needed. The line through Lemhi county to Red Rock cost about 3750 dollars and builders expect a similar cost for a Custer route using timber and natural trees.
