William Flenniken Dead Pioneer and Miner in Challis
Obituary notes William K. Flenniken born October 25 1848 in Uniontown Pennsylvania. He came to Utah at age eight with his father then US Judge of Utah. Flenniken settled in Custer County Idaho in 1879 and served as the first village marshal of Challis. He died January 24 in this city after pneumonia. He lived in Idaho City Boise City and Atlanta and was a hunter of mining prospecting, remembered for open heartedness and charity. The piece reflects on his character and faith, urging charity and memory of his deeds.

Harold Morrison, three, son of Mr and Mrs Morrison of Patterson, had tonsils and adenoids removed at Challis Hospital last week. Uriah Wells of Pahsamaroi underwent rupture repair, also last week. Mrs Philip Maraffio was brought to the hospital last Friday.
