A notice invites Challis sportsmen to meet Salmon Rod and Gun Club at Wm Plenniken’s ranch on Pahsamaroi for a friendly rabbit hunt contest on January 21 1899. Challis accepts to clash on February 1 1899 with teams limited to six men.

Insanity Case Brings Custer Patient to Asylum

Richard Bray of Custer was brought to Chalcis on Tuesday evening by K McKenzie and Rod McGee charged with insanity. He was jailed by Sheri Bowles and later judged insane in Judge Finnell's court. Bray has lived near Custer about two years, sometimes violent, but often appearing sane. Custer county now has five patients in the asylum, ranking fourth in the state.
