An old advertisement-like note promotes a dubious home remedy to cure a cold in a day. Ingredients are said to be obtainable from any druggist or wholesale house, with Concentrated pine sold in half ounce bottles in labeled cases.

A Bristol, England correspondent reports an odd incident at Lord Fitzbardage’s foxhounds meet. Horsemanship failed when Mr. Philip Norris was thrown into a stream and later found a live trout in his pocket while changing at a village inn. The trout was preserved at the hostelry.
A German investigator reports a peculiar emanation from printer's ink during drying that passes through opaque bodies and affects photographic roll film wrapped in paper. The emanation, distinct from radioactivity, alters gum arabic into a granular insoluble substance and can be reflected by metal, damaging surfaces it contacts. Exposure required to affect a plate is eight to ten days.
An old ad claims deafness is caused by an inflamed mucous tube and offers a wager of one hundred dollars for any case of deafness due to catarrh cured by Hall's Catarrh Cure. It promotes the remedy and circulars from Toledo makers Cheney and Co. Includes medicine names and a Yale Record joke about freshman honors.
