Four horse Concord stage coaches operate daily between Challis and Mackay the nearest railroad point, Challis and Three Forks on the Thunder Mountain route. In a ruling by Judge K I Perky, Lemhi County v Custer County over about 12000 in warrants set a precedent that the legislature cannot tax one county to pay another’s debt. Early ore value reached 170000 with 12 to 30 gold in 12 ledges. Plattsburg group of eight claims near Lost Packer also shows rich vein activity and multiple promising ledges.
