Action to void deeds and eject miners in Idaho suit

In the District Court of Idaho Canter County Peter Johnson sues The Idaho Gold Mining and Milling Company and others to void deeds and agreements, bar defendants from relief, eject defendants from the Fourth of July and Homestake mines, and recover damages of 0,000 plus costs. The complaint seeks immediate possession, control of mines, and general relief. first publication Feb 18, 1896.

Dentists Stephen and Schefstad Visit Challis Region

Messrs Stephen and Schefstad, Butte dentists, have been in Salmon three weeks and plan another visit, having completed much work in Salmon to general satisfaction. The Challis Cornet Band hosted a Valentine party at the I C O F hall, with fine dancing, music, and a souvenir for attendees. About 40 tickets were sold and numerous attendees listed, including Miss Nellie Penwell and many local residents.

Whitman Pair Marries in Anaconda Montana

Ola Mead and Miss Adelaide Keen of Whitman Massachusetts wed in Anaconda Montana on January 28 1896. The couple now resides in their new home after arrival via Salmon. Other notes mention local travel injuries inspections and residents’ doings across Challis Bayhorse and surrounding areas with mild weather and little snow.

Notice to coowners on Monitor Mining claim in Idaho

Clayton Mining and Smelting Co announces that twelve hundred dollars in labor and improvements has been expended to hold the Monitor Mining claim in the Bayhorse district of Coster County Idaho. Coowners have 60 days to contribute their share, currently 400.10, plus costs, or risk losing interest to the claimant under Section 24. The notice is dated Clayton Idaho February 1, first published February 16, 196.
