Carnegie Heirloom Loan Tale From Dunfermline Aunt
Glaswegian Henry Lennox claims his aunt lent 11 shillings to Carnegie's mother before the Carnegie family emigrated to the United States. He calculates with 5 percent compound interest the loan would total about 44 dollars, and appeals to Carnegie to repay the old debt. Lennox says the relatives remain in Scotland. Carnegie's camp reportedly investigated during a Skibo visit, with a note of possible endowment for the heirs if repaid.
