School reopens with lessons and student promotions in Challis
After a ten day holiday break Challis schools report rising attendance. A eye anatomy lesson by Barton used a Geotara and a sheep lung for illustration. Sadie Horton and Maude Jose advanced to the High School Department. Visitors included Mrs Cameron Dodge ford Seaton Rev Mason H F Powell and Prof Shermer. The Literati and Lyceum Societies held programs January 22 with music. Written exams in B and C grades were given in Miss Barton's room. The top percent earners to be announced next week. Parents and friends urged to visit. Challis Idaho February 5 1897.

Bayhorse grade road widening and new route proposals
