Stage line operates four-horse Concord coaches and daily first-class service between Challis and Mackay, the nearest railroad point, Challis and Three Forks on the Thunder Mountain route. Stages arrive Challis at noon and depart at 1 p m carrying passengers mail and express with connections to various points in Custer and Lemhi counties.

He climbs with kodak and snowshoes, struggles on the divide, endures a freezing night, and is rescued after eighteen hours.
