Interest in the last presidential election figures for reference shows 447 total electoral votes needed, McKinley assigned 992 across 28 states and Bryan 155 across 17 states. The next Congress expected Republican control by 47 seats, Senate projections favor Republicans in most states except Colorado Idaho Montana. Shoshone County seeks a new county from the southern part. Idaho Legislature convenes January 7, 1901.
