Challis Awakens Into A Metropolitan Town Of Progress
Challis Idaho rapidly modernizes after years of mining wealth. The town boasts cement sidewalks, a planned municipal water works, new bank and hospital buildings, and soon a telephone exchange and electric lighting. Real estate values double, and multiple new businesses, jails, a steel bridge, and two railroads are planned as Challis grows toward a city of 5000 residents.

Child Lost and Found in Morgan Creek Canyon
Five year old Maggie Wells, daughter of Lou and Mrs. Wells of May, wandered from her parents during a picnic in Morgan Creek canyon. After the canyon, where mountain lions and bears roam, the girl slept in a leaf bed along the creek, shoes and stockings removed, found by rancher Brown around 4 am after 50 locals searched.
