R C Armstrong of Alliance, with connections in Bridgeport and Scotts Bluff, was a BRNM passenger bound for Denver Sunday evening. Miss Valeska Neubauer of Sidney spent Sunday with her brother J Sc Neubauer. Joe Atkins and family spent several days on the ranch late last week. Only seven trains in and out of the valley on Sunday. James McMullsan of Sidney Publican rode the B&M to Alliance and back, meeting old friends. Geo DeGraw from nearby money vicinity viewed his irrigated farm Sunday as he plans moving there soon.

Cattle Theft Case in Logan County Ends in Discharge
In Logan county District Court on a Monday evening Henry Bartling faced trial for cattle stealing. Attorneys Miles and McIntosh urged immediate trial but Judge Pound noted absent state witnesses and the defense prevailed. The jury disagreed in the first trial and Bartling was discharged. Bartling’s case exposed wider disputes around the Evolue Pii ile creek area where his ranch lies and where associates have fled justice.
