James A. Hamilton Dies, Orrville News Pioneer

James A. Hamilton, eldest Wayne County newspaper publisher, died at his Orrville home at 2:30 am Friday after months of illness from Brights disease. He edited the Orrville Crescent before it merged with the Orrville Courier. Hamilton served as county infirmary director and was active in Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, and the Grand Army of the Republic. He leaves a wife, two daughters, and two sons. funeral services were held in Orrville with burial in Wooster.

Council Wrestles With Knotty Problems

At Monday’s council meeting September 16 all members were present except Mougey. A railroad commission note said the inspector overseeing the Rittman crossing issue was ill but would address it soon. The plan favored a watchman 7 am to 7 pm and 24 hour bell operation. The Rittman Realty Company proposed gifting Pleasant View woods for park use under town care until called for. council feared loss of access and suggested a lease instead. Dan Kaufman cited a party offering to allow dumping for compensation.

Old Resident Mrs Kreider Stricken Near Wadsworth

An elderly resident Mrs Anna Kreider near town is reported to be suffering from a stroke. She is widow of Jacob Kreider and mother to John Kreider of the Kreider Hotel in Wadsworth and William Kreider a surgeon there. She is also mother to the Kreider Bros physicians and surgeons of Goshen Indiana.
