Lightning Death Claims Local Soldier at Christy Farm
Calvin Baorkey, a 28 year old returning veteran, was struck and killed by lightning while plowing with a tractor on the Christy farm about four miles north of Wooster. His body was found two hours after the fatal stroke as a large oak was struck during the storm. He had served in Europe without injury before returning home.

Another Automobile Accident Near Marshallville Crossing
A Sunday noon crash on County Line road near the Marshallville Fulton crossing involved a Chevrolet and the Sfaynes machine. The Sfaynes, traveling from the north, was struck as the Chevrolet headed to meet at speed and rolled the other car over twice. Five occupants were severely injured. the Akron owner left the scene. Injured were taken to Mesellon city hospital. the Chevrolet occupants escaped with minor bruises.

Charles Hickin four year old son of Vance Ehekin suffered a scissors injury Friday afternoon when he jabbed the nail point into the pupil of his left eye. Doctors treated him and by Monday the eye was improving with no lasting damage expected.

Bura Ann Garberich born January 13 1848 died September 11 1919 at her daughter's home in Pittsburg aged 71 years 7 months 28 days. Baptized 1848 and confirmed 1861 at Evangelical Lutheran church. Married 1866 to Simon Garberich, four children born two sons and two daughters. one son preceded her in death. Survived by husband a sister a son two daughters nine grandchildren two great grandchildren. Suffered paralysis nearly ten months and received Holy Communion shortly before death with husband and two daughters present. Services at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Homer Ohio Rev Paul Schillinger officiating. Buried in cemetery near the church. The Garberichs lived in Rittman about six years and recently moved to Pittsburgh to live with daughter Mrs Samuel Hermans of Spencer Ohio.
