County Legion Elects Wooster Commander
The Wayne County American Legion council held its annual officer election in Apple Creek. Commander Edward Ross of Wooster and Vice Commander George Mayers of Shreve were chosen to lead. Adjutant to be appointed. executive committee members include Mel McBride, Ralph Hackett, and Paul Matteson. Installation set for October 8 in Orrville with Department Vice Commander Martin Coffey to perform the rites. The council allocated 2000 to help two 4-H members attend the 4-H Club Congress in Columbus September 7 to 12, selecting Olive Lepley and Evelyn Kestner as recipients.

High School Band Funding and Schedule Moves

Pvt Glen W Adams formerly a Brenneman Grocery clerk has been assigned to the Panama Detachment Scott Field after completing a 22 week Air Corps radio course. He was among 285 radio experts graduated from the Air Corps Public Relations Section announcement. The Scott Field course is a leading program in radio mechanics and operation.
