Baby Heidi Lynn Hoover Born In Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital

Dan and Waneta Hoover of Rittman are proud parents of Heidi Lynn born Tuesday August 24 at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital weighing 6 pounds 1 ounce. Maternal grandparents are Ralph Weaver of Millersburg and paternal grandparents Harold Hoover of Rittman. The Class of 1970 reunion for Rittman High is set for October 30 1976 at The Ramada Inn Wooster at 7 30 p m Reservations by September 25 with Eva Artrip. Eliz Berndt and son Klaus Jurgen Berndt of Bavaria visit Ohio friends Mr and Mrs Fred Diegele for nine days. Womens Late Monday Night Bowling League elected officers Sandy Huffman president Bonnie Gardner vice president and Jeanette Havarka secretary. A TOPS chapter team from Rittman joined the league including Sandy Huffman Bonnie Boothe and Becky Brickey.

Rotary Gov Speaks to Rittman Club on Service Thru Rotary

James E. Neff governor of the district will address the Rotary Club of Rittman on Service Thru Rotary. He will confer with club president David A. Ryckman and officials about planned activities for the year and offer administration suggestions. Neff, of Canfield, is one of 358 Rotary governors representing Rotary International. He is a Canfield Rotarian and Neff Insurance Center partner. Elected at the New Orleans convention in June 1976, he serves until June 30, 1977.

Rittman Entrants Included In Wayne County Fair

One killed and one injured in a crash on E Ohio Avenue. Paul A. Phillips, 29, of 342 Diane Street, died at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital after the motorcycle he rode as a passenger crashed near Erie and Industrial Streets. Earl D. Boyd, 32, of 14744 Decourcey Street, sustained cuts. Phillips, a Beallsville native, Vietnam veteran, was a 1966 Rittman High School graduate, worked at the Parma Chevrolet Plant, and belonged to VFW Post 1610 and K of P Lodge. He was married to Beckey, who died in 1975. Burial at Rittman Cemetery. Services set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Gillman Funeral Home. The Wayne County Fair opens its gates Saturday for a week of county fair entertainment with Friday judging of home economics, art, and more.

Rotarian Fritz Kanehl spoke on Back packing the easy way at the club meeting Thursday. He and his wife spent three weeks traveling in Canada in July. The slide presentation borrowed its title from Rotary's backpacking talk from two weeks earlier.

Lung Association Breathmobile to Visit Wayne County Fair

The Stark-Wayne Lung Association will bring the Breathmobile to the Wayne County Fair on September 13 and 14 from 2 to 5 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Eligible residents age 20 and over can receive free pulmonary function testing to detect breathing disorders, with results reviewed by their doctor.

Commission Approves Surveys by Rittman Planning Board

The Rittman City Planning Commission approved two surveys by the Wayne County Health Department at its meeting. An off-lot sewage with easement for property on County Road 108 in Milton Township was approved, as was the annexation of five lots on County Road 9 in Chippewa Township for an unannounced owner. The next meeting is set for Thursday October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Rittman City Hall.
