Nearly 800 residents filled the darkened Rittman High School auditorium for an hour long concert by Chalmers Dick Koepman, a blind Cleveland pianist, in his second appearance here. The Lakewood resident, praised as the Alec Templeton of Lakewood, performed Grieg, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, and a Gershwin medley plus audience requests, raising funds for band instruments and equipment.

Neighbors husk corn for widow of Sterling farmer
Thirty volunteers from Wilson Steele farm and Rittman Grange worked to husk 30 acres of corn for Mrs. Steele after the death of husband Wilson Steele near Sterling on Thanksgiving Day. Steele, 69, a Milton township resident active in Grange and community life, left a widow and several siblings and grandchildren. The service was held at Mount Hl cemetery with Rev. A Grubbs officiating.

Joseph Zvada a 58 year old Rittman resident and Czech native who came to the United States as a young man died suddenly at his Sterling Avenue home Wednesday after a two year battle with heart disease. He worked as a millwright at Ohio Boxboard for 30 years before retiring two years ago. Survived by his widow and six children Wade Rohrer Rittman Clair Berger South Bend Frank Zonda Theressa and Helen all at home. Funeral set for Saturday at St Ann's Church with Father Farrell officiating and burial in St Ann cemetery south of Rittman. Services handled by Ebert Funeral home.
