The Junior Class paper drive is set for Saturday to raise funds for the prom with door to door pickups and bagged papers. Also notes student achievements including Marine basic training, Navy Good Conduct Medal awards, dean’s list honors, and student senate elections at Wayne General Technical College. Yearbook orders are also offered with payment options.
The Women’s Republican Club of Wayne County invites members and the public to a luncheon on Wednesday November 28 at noon at the Smithville Inn. Reservations by calling Mrs Lindsey Williams in Rittman. The featured speaker will be C William O’Neil Jr of Columbus.
Grandmother's Club meets November 21 at 1 30 pm. Thanksgiving Day no school on November 22. Rittman Indians basketball travels to Cloverleaf with 6 45 pm start on November 23. Junior Class paper drive from 9 am until town covered. Milton Township Homemakers meet November 26 at 7 30 pm. Rittman Fire Auxiliary meets November 27 at 7 30. Delta Club at 8 pm. Buckeye Garden Club at 8 pm.

Bloodmobile visits the American Legion hall in Rittman on November 29 from noon to 6 pm with doctors Burell Chorba Vargas and chief nurses Lois Beres Ginger Stucky Carol Widmer. The Annual Community Thanksgiving Services will be held November 23 at 7 30 pm at the First Church of Christ, 50 N Main Street, Rittman. Invocation by Robert Stappleton, minister of First Church of God. William Leith, Milton United Presbyterian Church minister, speaks on "Appreciation Is A Rare Dis ease." Benediction by William Harris, First Baptist minister. James Watt reads Luke 17 1 19.
The Rittman Board of Education backed combining Baccalaureate and Commencement into one program following input from Superintendent Stucky High School Principal Hummel and senior class president Bruce Trogdon. The board had delayed a month to gauge community reaction while noting the reinstated federal milk subsidy and reduced milk prices for chocolate and white milk, with further adjustments tied to costs and subsidies. The board also requested a name change for Minam C Roth.
Rittman High School student council led by Sue Chorba will coordinate and sponsor paper drives for the school and local groups. The program aims for first and third Saturdays monthly, with PCA buying collected paper from the Waste Paper Plant on North Main Street under new owner John Riley. James Turner of PCA appeals to Wayne County citizens to recycle old newspapers, noting only about 20 percent of reusable paper is collected and that proceeds support youth memorials at West Hill School.
Thomas D Craig Sr aged 53 of 120 East Sunset Drive Rittman died after his car struck the rear of a tank truck driven by Daniel L Friend 37 at the Wall Road intersection on Ohio 57. The truck driver was uninjured. Craig, a World War II veteran and former General Motors employee, leaves five sons, three daughters, a sister and one grandchild. Services were held Saturday at Gillman Funeral Home with burial in nearby cemetery.
Evangelist Ketert hosts nightly revival at 261 South Man Ritmmann, with services at YS Carolina wail. On Wednesday, November 2, a featured speaker from the Footer team will perform. Saturday schedule includes Gugpel Sak teat and Ring 0 Visser from Cleveland.
