Local Legion Banquet Plans Unfold in Wayne County
Local Howard A. Bair Post members H H fruits Ray Johnson and Joseph Ward attended a Wayne County American Legion Council meeting in Doyles town. A Westinghouse motion picture display from the World’s Fair was shown. Plans for the eleventh annual Past Commanders Banquet at United Brethren Church on December 11 were announced with the host post. Ralph H. Stone will attend and address students in Rittman after the banquet. Other officials including H Milton Elliot and Samuel Redett will also be present. Mrs. Ralph H. Stone will visit as a guest of the County Auxiliary and stay with Mrs. W W Bodager. An inspection tour of Ohio Box board Co. and Ohio Salt Co. is planned for the afternoon. Tickets are on sale through county posts.

New Fire Truck Makes First Rittman Run
A new Rittman community fire truck ran its first local shift at 12:15 am Monday to tackle a lumber pile blaze near the Ohio Boxboard. Firefighters were summoned as flames threatened a nearby house in Snydertown. The fire was extinguished with no damage to surrounding property.

Rittman Hunters Bag Two Deer On Canada Trip
Ralph J Krabill and C B Wilson returned to Rittman after a week long hunt at Twin Lakes Canada about 35 miles north of Hastings. Krabill took a six point buck and Wilson a doe. The party included five Ohio hunters three Canadians and four guides. They stayed at a remote hunting lodge and reported good venison meals. The two deer were stored at a meat market.

New Trial Ordered in Blackwell Case
